Bemusement.

Life can work out to be a rather interesting beast of many colours, and one of it's primary joys seems to be in proving just how ironic it can truly be.

Now, I've always been vehemently opposed to online/distance dating. Just ask anyone I've ever known for a period of time, and they'll confirm that I'll (usually politely) make my opinion known. I'm not that shy.
   So I've really got to laugh at myself for falling head-over-heels with a girl I met... you guessed it, online. God bless craigslist, fate, karma, linguistics, and everything else that might have had a hand in that. She's fantastic.

...I could enumerate her many virtues (and she's got quite the list), but I'll spare you all the sappiness. Suffice it to say, I've had the best Valentine's of my life, and I'm pretty damn pleased with life in general.



But as one needle spins north on the compass, the other one spins south. Go give a "Hey, you're awesome, dude. Will you be my mohawked pimp-daddy?" hello to Austin, who's not doing quite so well. Great guy, fantastic artist, punk, and pimp-daddy of the photolab.

Impending doom and sticky memories.

Throughout history, birds have often been seen as having a relation with the spiritual realms, largely on account of their ability to freely traverse the domains of earth and air. And so, their actions were often seen as omens and portents of times ahead by our distant (sometimes not-so-distant) ancestors.

So, I figure it might be a bad thing when I have a pair of doves commit suicide against my window. Gives me the heebie jeebies, especially with V-Day around the corner (I hate Valentine's, I've never had a good one in my entire life).



In other news, the scanner is being obstinate, I'm stuck trying to figure out the drivers I need to install to get the damn thing working properly.

Though I do get to have fun designing a tattoo; I'm trading my artistic talents for her sewing skills. And it's really interesting having to design something using someone else's style, the tattoo is a continuation of a design on her upper back depicting a stylized heaven, my job is to complete the lower half in the same style depicting hell. I'll post it when I'm done if I get permission.


Other than that... mas videogames. Star Ocean 3, The Bouncer, S.L.A.I., Phantasy Star Universe, Persona 3, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Rome: Total War, and a reserve on Baroque. I get indolent when I'm single.

Restore disc!

Finally found a restore disc to fix my computer! I'm back, and I'll be posting as soon as I find the disc to get the bloody scanner working.

Sorry for the absence, life happens.



...and I have I mentioned how much the movie Juno sucked? Second film I've ever walked out on in my entire life. I was drinking all through it in an attempt to make it more survivable, and when the inevitable urge to urinate came, I just couldn't find the motivations to go back into the theatre.

Really. I was that bad.

X-mas gremlins

Yeah. So...

Computer got killed (big time) by a virus. I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to back up all my nifty files before performing a system wipe. Ech.
Anyone feel like sending me an external hard drive for X-mas?
Needless to say, this is from a friend's computer that I type this.

That's not to say I have not been productive! Kinda.

Two new drawings as soon as I'm up and running again, one as my usual trippy abstract, the other as a much more organic grape-vine/wisteria looking thing, but with insane detail.

I'll see about any photography.


Promotion to lead position is probable at work (go me), though I'll be busting my ass with full-time AND school. Finally going to college to get somewhere in life.



And just because it made my day, I feel this obligation to mention my Coat of Destiny. I've been looking for a classy winter coat for some time (hoodies ain't cuttin' it), and have had no luck whatsoever. And then, lo and behold, we get a return to our store of a coat we don't carry in our region. It's a 3/4 length gray and black cashmere/wool blend in a casual version of the formal cut (I know, it sound like a contradiction, but that's the best way to describe it), and it's exactly my size.

Needless to say, it's mine.
